What Does Long Bolt of Yakima Timberline Strap Thread Into

Updated 05/05/2025 | Published 12/05/2023

Question:

I have removed the long bolt that come to the rubber straps...on a fling...thinking I would clean them of their rust.... NOTE: the Towers are on the rack and the ends are difficult to take out kind of stuck. I did not pay attention on how they were installed nor did I leave on in place ...mea culpa. So unfortunatly the answer and small video you have about the replacement strap does not help..me. - What I am suppose to thread into? - Do I need to remove the towers from the rack hopefully not. Thankful for any quick response.

The long screw of the Timberline strap needs to thread into a barrel nut that's at the bottom of the strap. So you'll need to see if you can rotate the barrel nut or just move strap to the point the threads of the barrel nut line up with the the screw.
