How To Re-Install The Replacement Rubber Strap Kit For The Yakima TimberLine Towers

Question:

. I am switching to a new car so I’ve removed my timberline towers from my old car. There was a lot of wear on the rubber straps so I purchased the replacement strap. How do I get the new strap back into the tower? I removed the long Allen bolt so the old strap came out but I cannot figure out how to put the strap back in. My towers are the 2017 model so the rubber strap does not have the loop or hole in the rubber tab. I’m adding the picture of my exact strap. Thank you!

To install the Replacement Rubber Strap Kit for Yakima TimberLine Towers # 8880820, on your TimberLine Towers, you will need to slide the barrel nut into the metal end of the strap, and bring the strap to the front of the tower.

From here, you will just need to rethread the Allen bolt you originally pulled out, and you'll be good to go.
