Wiring Diagram for the Replacement Digital Relay Box for Advent AC

Question:

Hi, I am installing this unit but I am confused, - If the main power goes through the black port on the side, what would go on the red black and brown/white cables? - Where should I connect the 2 small plug-in connectors? I don’t see any port. Thanks all help is appreciated.

Looking at the wiring schematic on the unit, it looks like the red would get connected to a 12v power source, the black wire would be grounded, and the brown/white wire would need to be connected to the furnace thermostat.

For the 2 wires with the small connectors, that would be need to be connected to a heat pump.

Bryce, I am currently trouble shooting why my furnace will not kick on with the advent air conditioning unit / control module. The AC functions flawless but i can not get the Furnace to kick on. I currently have the brown wire connected to the red of the 2 wire to the furnace then the white looped to the rest of the white wire. I also double checked the thermostat switches on the advent T stat and everything is switched correctly there as well. I have checked all the obvious things, the fuse box and don't have any blown at the moment, batteries are charged, and the propane tanks are full. Thanks for your help Steve

@Steve Have you verified that there is a signal getting to the furnace? If there isn't that could indicate that there is a short in the travel wire, which would also cause the furnace to not kick on. If your furnace is getting a signal, I also recommend that the furnace is checked and cleaned as well. If all that is good, then I'd recommend reaching out the Advent and see if they have some more in depth troubleshooting they can walk you through.

@BryceD Bryce, I have the same issue going on, the folks at Advent are less than helpful their advice to me was to hire a professional to install the unit. I then explained to them the wiring digram and the troubleshooting that i have tried, they then changed their tune a bit and sent me a different digital relay box which basically had the same result. Right now i have the red of the (2wire to furnace) connected to the 12volt to furnace wire from the relay box, then the white wire is capped. If i bypass the relay box and touch the red and white wire together the furnace turns on right away, ignites, and functions as it should. Does this sound like another bad relay box?
