Can The Lid Of The Replacement Exterior Pop-Up Roof Vent # RV-626-062 Be Removed
Updated 11/06/2023 | Published 11/05/2023 >
Question:
Could the the Replacement Exterior Pop-Up Roof Vent - Aluminum - 13-1/2 x 8 be disassembled? I just need the lid w/the fins and the rod. The unit is riveted on, it would be easier and cheaper to replace the parts from a new one, than find someone to remove and replace the whole thing. Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
The bracket that holds the lid of the Replacement Exterior Pop-Up Roof Vent # RV-626-062 is riveted to the vent so you'd likely have a hard time trying to remove it without damaging it. Removing the entire vent from the roof of your trailer would just require you drilling down into the rivet and clearing off any sealant so it would probably be about the same difficulty as removing the lid and then trying to reinstall it on the old vent and rivet it in place. Personally, I'd just replace the entire vent and save yourself the hassle incase it doesn't exactly match up with the vent you currently have.
