Question:

How does this cover lock so that no one can open it from above? I do not see anything in the pictures showing a locking mechanism.

When the Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # PE66QJ is completely closed it will be latched in place and the latch is only accessible with the tailgate down. When you lock your 2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty tailgate the cover will be locked and someone will have to break in to get at any cargo in your truck bed.

It has a lock at the back of the retractable part of the cover that allows you to secure the cover at any point along to rails to accommodate for different load sizes.
