Helpful Expert Reply:
If your MaxxFan Plus 4-Speed Roof Vent with White Lid # MA00-04751KSX isn't lifting electronically or manually then your lift arm or operator # MA10-20281K-1AF is most likely broken and would need to be replaced. The gear inside these are notorious for breaking so the knob is most likely just spinning inside the broken gear.
If the fan is kicking on without the keypad connected then the motor is somehow getting power to it activating it. These fans typically get tied in with the wiring for a light switch so it's possible that a certain switch in your trailer is on and providing power. There could be a issue with the circuit board as well. I would check the wiring to see how the unit is getting powered and most replace the circuit board # MA39FR to stop the unusual behavior. I would also tell whichever ghost is haunting your fan to knock it off.
The parts I've listed above are for specific models so please verify what model you have before purchasing anything. If you find you have a different model then let me know and I'll get you the ones for your specific model.
