Troubleshooting MaxxFan Not Opening on 2017 Grand Design Reflection

Question:

the maxxfan in my 2017 Grand Design Reflection isnt working properly. At first, it wouldnt do anything, then with no help from me, the fan started working, but it wont open or close except by hand. When I press the open or close button on the wall, I can hear it beep at the fan, but nothing happens.

It looks like you have the MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Powered Lift - 4 Speed - White # MA00-04751KSX. The unit sounds like it is malfunctioning and this could be due to the rain sensor # MA34FR. It sounds to me like the sensor is seeing moisture whether there or not and keeping the power lid from opening. I recommend unplugging the rain sensor and seeing if all the other functions work. If so, then simply replace that sensor. If the other features still do not work, then you will need to replace the unit.
