Can Firestone Air Bags Fit 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 With 6 Inch Lift

Question:

Hello, I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500. It has a 6 inch lift done by the previous owner who had towed with the truck. It has upgraded reservoir shocks front and rear. Im going to be purchasing a 5th wheel toy hauler soon. My question is would it still be possible to add the Firestone Air Lift air bag system to my truck with the lift on it? If so which one do you recommend? Im looking at getting a 5th wheel trailer with a GVWR of no more than 16000 lbs. Thank you for your advice.

You'll need spacers, but you can use the Firestone air bags on your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 with a 6 inch lift. What you need is the following:

- Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2613

- Air Lift Universal Air Spring Spacers - 6" Lift # AL52460

The # F2613 are the best option with their 5,000 lb capacity, which is more than enough for a mid-sized 5th wheel trailer like you're getting. Going with the heavy-duty air bags is overkill and you'll honestly be spending money you just don't need to for no benefit.

I also wanted to mention, with air bags, I do highly recommend considering a compressor to make both monitoring and maintaining the air bags much easier. The best and simplest option to do so is a wireless compressor, the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System # AL25980EZ.

Finally, to avoid any leaks when installing the air bags you'll want to use Air Hose Cutter # AL10530.
