How Does Removable Arms of Roadmaster Base Plate Kit Remove with Crossbar of Stowmaster

On my 2007 Mini convertible I have bought the Roadmaster 521876-1 base plate kit. You recommended the Roadmaster Stow Master 501 fior the tow bar as I want a ball hitch unit. Does the Stow master brackets mount to the base plate brackets? If so then do the brackets just stay with the base plate brackets so I can remove the tow bar from the car when I will not be towing it then remove the base plate brackets? Need to understand how the tow bar attaches and is removed

The crossbar of the Roadmaster Stowmaster # RM-501 stays attached to the removable arms of the base plate kit # 521876-1 which you can leave attached and pull the arms out with the crossbar.
