Does Yakima Backswing Cut Capacity of Trailer Hitch

Question:

I was looking at the Yakima BackSwing Extender for my 2023 Land Rover Defender 130. In the pictures, there is a keep and the hitch looks like there is already an extender on before you install the BackSwing. If that is the case, would the TW need to be reduced by 50 twice? Also, assuming this makes sense, what size extender would I need to the rack would clear the rear mounted wheel? Thanks

The Yakima BackSwing part # Y02483 that you referenced is a form of hitch extender as there isn't a way to add the pivot function without also adding length. This does add 14 inches as an extender and also does cut tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent due to added length. I don't know exactly how long of an extender you'd need but I would pretty safely assume that the 14 inches that this provides would easily be more than enough.
