Question:

Good Afternoon. So my question is, For the Demco Recon Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Hitch, the distence to the top of the flat bed to the top of the resest ball, is 1 1/6 inch please tell me that this will still work. Its a welded ball so my options are limited.

It looks like you are going to have to use an adapter like the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G with your 5th wheel trailer. The Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter for Recessed Ball # DM8550046 requires the top of the gooseneck ball to be 13/16" or closer to the top of the truck bed. And it does not appear your recessed area is wide enough to fit their other Adapter # DM8550045 which is designed for a standard bed. This adapter is 30-1/2" wide and 28" deep. If that will fit then it will be your best option.

Otherwise the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G secures itself to the king pin. This is adjustable between 12" and 16" from the top of the hitch ball.
