Question:
2022 Toyota Sienna Hybrid AWD I am having a small light weight cargo trailer built with electric breaks to be able to pickup a new washer or dryer, take a bbq to the park… light stuff. But nothing seems to give me electric break options and when I find seems to have to run to the front of the van when the battery is actually in the rear? What would you advise?

In order to use the brakes on your trailer you will need to add a 7-way and a brake controller. You will need to start by adding a 4-way with the # TK69FR. This is a plug and play installation and does not require running anything to the battery.
Once you have installed the 4-way, you can add a 7-way using the # ETBC7. This comes with the adapter, wiring, circuit breakers, and everything else you need to upgrade to a 7-way.
As you said, the 2022 Toyota Sienna Hybrid has a 12V battery in the rear which should be behind the panel on the passenger side like the picture below. Instead of running the power wire to the front, you will connect it here. You saw the wire running to the front since that is typical for most installations. Hybrids and EVs usually have a 12V battery in a different location away from the main battery.
However, you will still need to run the brake output wire up to the front of the vehicle if you want to use an in-cab brake controller like the # RED52VR. The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty is what I would choose if I installed a brake controller on my 2022 Sienna Hybrid. There is a lot of space in the front and I prefer to keep it that way. You can mount the main unit behind the dash and the control knob in one of the knockouts to the left of the steering wheel as shown below, or wherever else you would like.
If you would rather not run the wire up to the front, you could also use a brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180. Since this plugs in-line with the 7-way at the back the brake output wire is not needed. You would use the # ETBC7L for a 7-way instead which doesn't include the brake output wire.

Hi! We have a Sienna hybrid also (2023) and I wired it for a 7-pin which allowed us to use the Curt Echo that came with our trailer. We are not happy with the braking performance (not smooth at low speeds) and how it must be reconnected via BlueTooth each time we turn off the vehicle. (yes the settings will save, but it is not trustworthy without seeing the app connection and knowing that the braking is working and adjustable) If I were to install a REDARC, would it be possible to mount & wire it in the rear of the van and only run a RJ45 cable up to the dash control knob? This makes it sounds possible / easy : https://www.etrailer.com/question-267002.html
