If heat damages rods and line, why is it good to get a rod storage tube for a trailer?

A fully enclosed fishing rod carrier like the part # MPG541 has the advantage of completely protecting everything from the elements but if the weather is super hot it would be smart to not leave it in the carrier when parked where the heat would build up.
