Should Trailer Tires of Malone Microsport be Deflated When Carrying Lighter Load

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/30/2025

Question:

Will be running KendaST145/12 on a Malone microsport at 450 lb total weight at 75 mph long distance. Should I run the tires at the 65lb max pressure or at a lower pressure due to the low weight of the trailer? Thanks, Rand

Hey Rand, I checked your order notes and it looks like you ordered the part # AM10130 for your Malone Microsport trailer part # MPG461B2. With trailer tires you need to run them at the max PSI listed on the sidewall regardless of the weight of the trailer. So in your situation yes, you would want to run them at 65 psi.

Vehicle tires you do want to deflate them a bit but trailer tires are truly a "one size fits all" when it comes to inflating them.

Hey Rand, how did things go running the Kenda tires at 65 psi on your Malone Microsport trailer? Did they handle well on your long-distance trip? Your feedback could really help others setting up similar lightweight trailers.
