Question:
Hi: I have a old equalizer system and bought a used 2017 Airstream Classic with a GVW of 10,000# and a hitch weight of 1,200#. I am not sure what equalizer I have. So, I am considering the 14,000# unit from E Trailer, But I need an extended shank. Can the 12 which comes with the kit be replaced with an 18 with 6 rise/lower. Thanks

Expert Reply:
If you need to switch out the shank that comes with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37140ET then go with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part #EQ37141ET and then just order the shank you need like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4600. I know a lot of people do this so they can lay the tailgate down with the trailer attached and this shank is long enough to let you do this on most trailers.
Please note, the most amount of rise/drop offered for the 18" Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank is 4".
