Is The Progressive Dynamics PD4645V Compatible With Lithium Batteries

Question:

How does this converter charge both lithium and lead-acid batteries? The instructions say at the very end that it only charges lithium batteries.

The instructions for the Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section for AC/DC Power Distribution Panel - 45 Amp # PD4645V have multiple model numbers on them since each model has basically the same installation instructions. They do breakout each model separately when they list the characteristics but I think what you're referring to is the note at the very bottom that states "The 4600LI series converter/chargers are designed to recharge lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries only".

This note is referring to the "LI" versions of the 4600 series, which are designed for use with lithium batteries. The # PD4645V is a standard model that's only compatible with lead acid, AGM, and gel batteries. This is just an identical swap out for the converter cross section if you had a 45-amp Parallax/Magnetek or WFCO power center.
