Is 3/4" Plywood Strong Enough to Secure The Brophy Swiveling D-Ring Anchor # RR6K Full Working Load?
Published 04/21/2023 >
Question:
I have a 28 foot car hauler with a 3/4 plywood floor and I purchased the RR6K Brophy D rings. Is the 3/4 inch plywood floor with just the backing plate strong enough for a 4000 pound car?

Expert Reply:
For the amount of weight you are securing with the Brophy Swiveling D-Ring Anchor # RR6K you will need to add some additional support to the anchors. The 3/4' plywood is not strong enough to hold your 4,000lb car in place. You can add some additional bracing or a larger steel backer to connect to floor crossmembers which will better secure the D-rings to your trailer.
