Question:
Hi - am looking at brake controllers for a 2020 Tacoma with factory tow-package considering the Tekonsha P3 and RedArc Liberty. Ive seen some references to potential issues with brake controllers for this truck causing issues with back feeding into the brake lights on a manual activation of the brakes, and want to verify if this is a concern for either of these controllers. Can you advise? Thanks!

You should not have any issues with either the Redarc Liberty # RED24FR or Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 brake controllers on your 2020 Toyota Tacoma. They resolved issues with these on the Redarc Pigtail # RED99FR and Tekonsha Pigtail # 3031-P when they added the additional grounding lug to these harnesses.
Personally I feel the either the Redarc Liberty # RED24FR or Elite # RED44FR are the best choice as you can install these with the Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-002 for a clean appearance. You may want to consider the Elite controller if you plan on doing any towing while off-roading. The Elite allows you to switch from a proportional brake setting to a user controlled mode which will give you more direct and adjustable control of the trailer brakes.
