Should I Replace The ST145/R12 Trailer Tires Before Taking a 1,000 Mile Trip

Question:

I am looking for advice. I have a 20 foot pontoon boat on a single axle yacht club trailer. I will be towing it 1,000 miles in May. The tires are in good shape but I am wondering if I should upgrade them for extended highway travel? They are Load Star S-trail ST145R12 DOT 7YKJ Steel belted. Thanks

If you are questioning the quality of the tires or their ability to hold up I recommend just replacing the tires. Defiantly be sure to check the age of the tires to ensure they are not too old. I typically recommend once a tire is 5 years old to go ahead and replace them. We have the Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range D # AM10130 or E # AM10140.
