When you’re covering long distances in heat or rough conditions, this setup is built for steady, confident towing. The Karrier S-Trail radial tire has a 10-ply rating with a maximum load of 1,520 lbs at 80 psi and a speed rating of M (81 mph). It meets DOT specifications, so you can head out knowing it’s ready for highway duty.
Corrosion is no match for the rustproof aluminum construction and clear-coat finish on the front and back of this wheel. The AM01 spoke design looks clean while staying durable and lightweight. Steel inserts in the lug nut wells keep the wheel securely in place and prevent wear over time, so it stays tight mile after mile.
This tire’s radial design uses double steel belts and full nylon piles to deliver stable tracking, even at speed. The computer-generated tread pattern and premium rubber compound give dependable traction in wet or dry conditions, keeping the ride smooth and predictable whether the road is straight, slick, or hot.
No need to piece things together. This assembly pairs a 12" diameter x 4" wide aluminum wheel with an ST145R12 tire that’s already matched for fit and performance. With a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, 0 offset, 3.19" pilot diameter, and 1/2"-20 wheel bolts, it’s ready to bolt on and go.
Drive with confidence knowing the tire is covered by a 1-year worry-free guarantee—if it’s damaged in any way within the first 12 months, it will be replaced at no charge. The wheel also carries a 2-year limited warranty for added assurance down the road.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Kenda Karrier ST145/R12 S Trailer Radial Trailer tire. It's in a load range E and it's mounted on this 12-inch black aluminum trailer wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this tire wheel assembly is ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. It is a black five spoke aluminum, AM01 series wheel with a machine face. It's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof.
And if you notice, there's a clear coat finish on the front and even on the back of the wheel to help protect from scuffs and scratches. Now, one of the nice features I like on this wheel is right here in the lug nut wells. They put these steel inserts in there and that's designed to help keep your wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. So basically when you put this wheel up on the hub, put the, or onto the wheel bolt, put your lug nuts on and go to torque 'em down. These inserts, these steel inserts, they prevent the holes from elongating and wearing down, so eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts.
Now the wheel diameter, 12-inches. The overall width on the wheel's four inches wide. Now the bolt pattern on this wheel on this wheel is a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel, that's a odd number of lugs, like in this case, five. What you do is just pick any hole, let's say here, and then you're gonna measure from that hole across to either one of these holes.
But when you measure it from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So on this, if we measured it's 4-1/2 inches, so it's a five lug, 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20, and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 1,520 pounds. Now if you notice, this wheel does not come with a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separate on our website.
And you wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll fit the diameter, same diameter as this pilot hole right here, which is 3.19-inches. Now the tire is a Kenda Karrier S Trail Radial tire, uses double steel belts and full nylon ply, which combine for superior function, long life. The tread on it is a computer-generated tread design, uses premium rubber compound materials that give you superior traction and wet or dry condition. The tire is an ST, which stands for Special Trailer tire, has sturdy sidewall so they can handle heavy loads and it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on any other vehicles. Tire size, which would be stamped on the sidewall. ST, for Special Trailer, 145/R12. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width, 5.8-inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 21.4. And this tire is a load range E, which means it's a 10-ply rated tire. So it has a maximum load capacity of 1,520 pounds at 80 PSI. And the last thing I wanna mention is all the trailer tires now have a speed rating stamped on 'em and it's by a letter designation. And where you'll find it is right where the tire size is down by the wheel. Right after the tire size, you'll see a number for the load index and then the letter M, speed rating M will mean this has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. And this tire wheel summary does meet the Department of Transportation specifications. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Kenda Karrier ST145/R12 S Trailer Radial Trailer tire in a load range E on a 12-inch black aluminum trailer wheel.

Right out of the box, mark me impressed. These really made my Sea-Doo trailer look finished. They are not much more than the steel spoke wheels with the same tires.
Quality look and feel. Replaced 4.80x12 bias with 145 R12’s. Glad I did and they look great on the jet ski trailer.
Initially I had purchased two new tire & wheels for my kayak trailer and was so impressed that I purchased another one for the spare. Professional service and expedited shipping. Pleased with my purchases !! Thanks again.
Super easy to work with etrailer and find the right tire for our tow dolly. Great communication and updates throughout.
Outstanding customer service. My original order wasn’t in stock. I called Carter P recommended these wheels and tires. The package was sent out immediately and received 2 days early. The wheels look great. I drove over 400 miles on them so far and they’ve preformed great. Very pleased with this purchase. Thank you Carter and etrailer for a wonderful experience.
Perfect fit! Look great! Made my boat trailer look and ride so much better. Highly recommended for the price!
As always the documentation of products is excellent, both written and video. Ordering is extremely simple and shipping was quick and on time. The packaging was robust but easy to handle and of course I received exactly what I expected. I did want to confirm the proper lug nut torque and I received an answer via a chat session within minutes. Etrailer has an "A" game that always executes when I shop and order.
Items came as described and in excellent condition. And the wheels look great on my trailer. Very happy with purchase!!
Nice wheels and tire upgrade. I really needed radials but the wheels look so nice and give my trailer a more refined look. Gona order one more for spare
Wheels look great on my trailer. I placed the order over the phone. The lady was super helpful sending me links to the pictures and choosing the right tire size and model. I think this is a great upgrade to my trailer.
Excellent service. Fast delivery. Thank you
These tires were delivered in two days from date of purchase. Great packaging and look great. Thanks
Very easy to order on the webist- Perfect communication and updates for when my gear would arrive. Wheels and tires were packed very well so no scratches could occur. These will go on a snowmobile trailer to give it some flare.
Wheels look great. Center hub covers and stainless steel cap lug nuts would look great but I painted my hubs black carefully using the carryover standard lug nuts and the wheels look fine. It’s a trailer. I do wish they had come balanced. Plenty of “experts” say it’s not necessary to balance trailer wheels. This engineer says that’s nonsense. Balanced tires wear better and the trailer suspension and other components will last longer if you balance the wheels. Just because you can’t feel the shake in the seat of your pants doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Overall, a nice wheel in The package and I would buy it again.
