Can You Use a Cover on a Kuat Hitch Bike Rack

Question:
You mentioned the swagman cover for kuat 2 bike racks where bikes sit opposite one another. Kuat says they absolutely do not recommend a cover for the bikes as it increases stress on the rack? I’m confused.

In general, you should not use a cover like the Swagman Bike Cover for RVs part # S24FR on a car, truck, or suv with any rack because it catches too much wind and causes additional stress on the rack. The correct usage for a cover is when the rack is on the back of an RV where there's a large body to block the cover and reduce the amount of wind it catches.
That said, if the bike rack manufacturer does not permit the use of a cover on an RV either then you would need to abide by their recommendation.
