Do I Have to Adjust the TruRyde Electric Trailer Brakes?

Question:
Will these self adjust once putting them on or do you have to manually adjust first? Just installed these and my trailer brakes are grabbing but doesn’t feel to full potential or locking tires up at low speeds.

You won't want to adjust the TruRyde Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - item # TRU96FR. You can but the concern is if you go to far on an adjustment it is extremely difficult to back it off.
You will want to make sure you have adequately broken in your brakes. I have linked a help article below to walk you through it but have also written a condensed version below.
You will basically want to hook your trailer up and drive it somewhere like an open parking lot. Once you get to 45 mph you will want to use the manual override on your brake controller to activate your trailer's brakes. The best setting to do this on will be right in the middle. You will not want to have it be at the max setting or use your truck brakes at all. This may take 20 or 30 attempts.
