Question:

Hello, Im looking for the a replacement axel for a Titan Trailer model # T1-20-5k. Unfortunately the axel is rusted to the point where it has broken in half and I cant find the model number. Any help identifying which axel fits the trailer would be appreciated. Thanks

There are a few ways you could try to identify the axle for a replacement. I contacted Titan Trailer and they did not recognize that model number. They did say if you have a VIN number they would be able to identify it. If you don't have it there are other ways to identify the axle for a replacement.

We will need to find the length as well as the capacity for a replacement. The length is the hub face to hub face measurement. Since your axle broke in half you can measure the two halves separately and add them together to find the correct length. I attached an image below showing where you need to measure.

For the capacity you can use the diameter of the axle as well as the bearings. More than likely you have a 2-3/8" diameter (3,500 lb axle) or a 3" diameter (5,200-7k axle). This information combined with the bearing combination will help you find the right replacement.

Your trailer bearings should have a number stamped on them for identification. If this is missing you will have to measure using a digital caliper like the # PTW80157. You need the inner diameter of the bearings or you can measure the spindle where the bearings ride. For example, if you find that you have a # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearing then you have a 3,500 lb axle. If you have a # 25580 inner and # LM67048 outer bearing it is a 5,200 lb axle.

If you let me know the length and what bearings you have I can see if a replacement is available. I also attached a link to all of our axles, along with a help article showing bearing combinations and the corresponding axle capacity for your reference.
