Question:
Need help. Had this installed on my trailer but it's not plugging into the truck's 7-Way. Like it doesn't fit. Confused. What am I doing wrong? 2022 Silverado 2500. Thx.

This is an interesting (extremely frustrating) issue we've recently discovered with a lot of the new GM trucks, specific to the Bargman 7-Ways like the part # 54006-057 you mentioned having. I can at least assure you that you're not doing anything wrong.
The problem is with the molded "fins" present on the factory 7-Way for these new models, which prevents the Bargman 7-Way from properly seating into the connector. There isn't really a fix for this beyond either replacing the factory 7-Way on the truck or getting a different connector for the trailer, unfortunately.
Since you just installed the trailer side, the simplest solution is probably to just replace the truck's 7-Way with the Hopkins # HM40975. This will be an easy, plug-and-play installation. If you wanted to replace the trailer side instead, the Pollak # PK12706 will be the best option and is actually what GM suggests because Pollak is who manufacturers the factory 7-Way on their trucks.
I've attached a couple install videos that you can check out as well.

I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the factory truck mounted receptacle that has the GM logo on the cover. I also have 4 trailers and a 27ft camper that this truck tows. Now I know why after many hours of searching and test fitting at stores why 3 of them do not completely seat into the truck receptacle. They are dual bladed ends. So my best bet is to cut off the ones that do not seat properly and replace them with the Pollak PK12706 cord end. I do have a Pollak adapter from 7 to 4 wire which is how I know the Pollak does fit. It was just never explained to me why. Wait till I tell my Chevrolet dealer! The questions I have are : 1. Is there a Pollak design by another name or manufacturer that is less expensive? I have no problem using Pollak but will need 4 cord caps. 2. Does the Pollak design come with a cord, as I plan to rewire a recent purchase of a car trailer? 3. Does Pollak have a water proof design for changing out my ends?
