Why are K-Summit Tire Chains Recommended for 2019 Chevy Traverse with 255/55-20 Size Tires

Question:

Your response to Tire Chains for 2019 Chevy Traverse with 255/55R20 Tires is interesting. You say to use the chains that dont go on the back. However if you compare the tire size 255/65 R18 vs 255/55 R20, unless I am reading it wrong , the 20inch is not larger in height or width. Seems many chains would still work especially a class S, rather than super expensive chains

I definitely see what you're saying about the 255/55-20 and 255/65-18 tire sizes on a 2019 Chevy Traverse, and while I do agree with you, we stick with going off of what the owner's manual says for the tire chains because if we recommend something else then that can be a liability-type issue.

So while you could use something like the Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC747DC for your 255/55-20 tires, I only recommend the Konig K-Summit Chains # TH02230K77 because the chains only sit on the tread so you have 0 clearance issues at the back side of the tire.
