Question:
tire size for 1999 Starcraft Venture 1706 I need to know if I can put a larger tire on my camp trailer? Right now I have 5.30-12 , 4 hold pattern with a load rating of 1100 lbs. Can I go larger and wider? Thank you

Expert Reply:
Your 5.30-12 size tire, like the Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel # AM30780, measures 5.6" wide and has a 22" overall diameter which makes it the largest size for the 12" wheels. We recommend maintaining at least 4" of height clearance to account for suspension travel and at least 2" of clearance from the tire sidewall to your trailer frame so as long as you have more than that you can use larger tires, yes.
If you were to go with the next size up then we're looking at the Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range C # AM3S120 which measures 6.6" wide and has a 24" overall diameter so you're reducing your height clearance by 1" and your sidewall clearance by 0.5" if you go this route.
Let me know if you have even more clearance to work with and I can see what else we have that might work! Attached are some review videos for you to check out!
