Question:

HI, I have a 2016 Ram 2500. I have a Fastaway FA49-00-5925 and it does not stick out far enough from the truck for the tailgate to come down when connected to a trailer. Can you tell me if I can use the ball off of the Fastaway FA49-00-5925 on the Curt 17132 shank? I want to use that shank and the fast away ball. It appears from what I can see both shanks are 2.5, but wanted to confirm the ball sleeve portion is the same width on the part of the shank. Thank you

I spoke to Fastway and the ball holder from the Flash Solid Steel HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount part # FA49-00-5925 won't work on a weight distribution shank as there would be too much play. That said, I do have an option for you which I have attached below which entails basically building your own ball mount. This will allow you to tow a trailer and also put the tailgate down while still hooked up.
