Trailer Hitch For 2015 Honda Civic With Highest Tongue Weight Capacity
Published 10/14/2022 >
Question:
Hi, I am looking for a solution to transport my moms power wheelchair, which weighs 138.6 pounds, with my 2015 Honda Civic LX. From what I have read online, the max tongue weight for this car is 200 lbs, and it seems like most hitch solutions would put me a few pounds over the limit when combined with the chair. Wondering if there are any hitch solutions out there that could get me under the max tongue weight. Thanks!

There is one option for a trailer hitch for your 2015 Honda Civic that has a tongue weight higher than 200 lbs, which is a hitch from EcoHitch. This hitch actually has a 300 lb tongue weight rating, and is the following part number:
- EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7235
As for the maximum tongue weight capacity of the Civic, I took a look in the owner's manual and it did not detail a specific number. It did have a load limit section that will include all weight, including tongue weight, that you will want to follow, so check your owner's manual under the "Maximum Load Limit" section.
