Battery Disconnect Solution for 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 Diesel with Two Batteries

Question:
I need to isolate the 2 batteries on a 2017 GMC Duramax truck for flat towing. They have separate grounds in two different locations. I am considering installing a single disconnect between the positive bus and the two positive battery leads. Is this the best solution? How do your techs handle this? Thanks, Dan

Hey Dan, we usually install battery disconnects like the Blue Ox Battery Disconnect for Towed Vehicle w/ Flat Tow Brake System # BLU58HR which provides an easy way to disconnect the battery. This works on diesel engines like what you have unlike some of these and also you'd need a quantity of two of these since you have two batteries.
