Question:
Is there a manual brake lockout available for backing the trailer?

Expert Reply:
The Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator part # 099-175-20 has both an electric lockout as well as a manual. The electric one is a single wire on the back of the actuator that will be hooked up to the reverse light circuit on the vehicle. The manual one is engaged by placing the safety pin in the hole on the side of the actuator housing.
Please note, you will need a 5-way to use the electric lockout and for this I recommend the Hopkins Endurance 5-Way Flat Trailer Wiring Kit part # HM47890 which comes with both trailer and vehicle side plugs.
