How to Wire Two 6V Batteries in Series for 5th Wheel Power
Published 10/07/2022 >
Question:
Im replacing the batteries in my 2021 Keystone Raptor 423 5th wheel. There are 2x6v. I didnt take picture when i took them out. Now im trying to figure out whats the right way to do it. I have 1 main ground and 1 main positive that goes into the rv. one ground thats attached to the frame and one positive thats connected to a bunch of wires up above. Also one foot long cable that im assuming needs to go from positive to negative, just dont want to short anything. Please see pictures and any assistance would be appreciated as im lost. Thanks

Since you're using 2 of the 6V batteries you'll want to connect them in series so you have 12V power. This means you'll connect the positive of 1 battery to the negative of the other battery. Then you'll connect the remaining positive terminal to your 2021 Keystone Raptor 423 power supply and the remaining negative terminal to the ground connection to complete the circuit.
You'll likely have a cable like part # DW01485 that connects the batteries together.
Attached is an image showing how to wire your 6V batteries in series so you have 12V power for your 5th wheel.
