Question:
My F250 has a trailer wiring harness at the end behind the rear bumper of 4 wires on one round connector and 3 on another round connector. I assume that is for a 6 or 7 way trailer brake system hookup or is it for 4 as well?. I only want to hookup for 4 wires. Do I connect to the 3 and 4 wire connectors just described OR connect through the rear light wiring harness next to the 7 wire set up I just described. I assume they rear light harness fits the 8 pin connectors shown in your items, for example Hopkins 40125???

I have the perfect trailer wiring harness for your 1997 Ford F-250 and F-350 Heavy Duty!
The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM40125 plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper or inside the driver's-side frame channel. Once the installation is complete the 4 way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. The Mounting Bracket # 18144 (Sold Separately) and will keep the connector secure.
