Question:
I have a 16 F150. The 12V power supply wire in the factory supper duper tow package is a whoopping 18 or 16 ga wire. Totally insufficient for the 20-40 amp potential draw from this actuator. Im going to a dedicated wire from the battery properly fused for this circuit. Will 8 ga be sufficient?

In regards to the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes part # HBA16, the manual states 12 gauge is required for the power leads so anything larger than this will work great as well. We offer 12 gauge by the foot as part # 12-1-1 as well as 10 gauge as part # DW02508-1. For a circuit breaker, I recommend the 40 Amp In-Line Circuit Breaker part # 9510.
