Question:

I have a Grand Design fifth wheel trailer and i want to purchase slide awnings but one of my slide outs has an awning mounted to it and the clearance to the door and second awning are very tight ,is there a slide out awning that has tight clearance brackets? I am looking for black. thank you

There aren't smaller brackets for slide out awnings but you can go down a size to gain some additional clearance between your other awning and door.

For example, the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000177334 you were looking at fits a flange to flange measurement of 140" to 145". Even if your measurement falls within the 140" to 145" range you could still go a size lower to the # LCV000168328 and just center it over the box to have the arms/brackets sit closer in for additional clearance.

If you can give me the flange to flange measurement and the amount of clearance you have on both sides of the slide out I can help find the correct fit for you.

My flange to flange measurement is 142”. I have lots of clearance on the aft side but only 2.5” on the forward side between the flange and the support arm of another awning above the entry door. The roof of the slide is 135.5” wide. The brackets have already been installed on the face of the slide and are 132” outside to outside. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. 2024 Alliance Paradigm 310RL Scott

@ScottS The arms will typically sit out an additional 2.5" on each side so with the # LCV000177334 you'd be too wide and contact the other awning arm. You might be able to slide the awning more to the other side where there's enough space, but without physically testing it I can't say you won't still end up contacting that support arm. The shorter # LCV000168328 would fit and still would be long enough to cover the box with 2"+/- of overhang on each side. Going with a shorter awning could require you to remove and reinstall the brackets on the slide out to bring them in enough for the awning to fit though. I would get the awning fabric into the extrusion rail and test it to see if the brackets do actually need to be moved before taking them off. If you do have to move them you'll want some butyl tape # AL28FJ for the back of the brackets and some sealant # 344270341437-1 to fill in any unused mounting holes. If you still have questions just let me know.
