Can a Weight Distribution Hitch Be Used With My 2018 Toyota Highlander
Updated 08/05/2022 | Published 08/03/2022 >
Question:
I Have a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE equip with a towing package.. Since it is a unibody vehicle, I was told that a weight stabilizing hitch could not be used as its too hard on the body since its not a full frame from bumper to bumper. My camper trailer weighs 3,000GVW with about 350 tough weight single axel. What is your opinion?

Whenever it comes to towing guidelines for vehicles I always refer back to the owner's manual. I checked the online manual for your 2018 Toyota Highlander and it gave some instructions about what to look for in a weight distribution system but it didn't say anything about not using one so I recommend checking with your copy of the owner's manual as well as your local Toyota dealer so your decision is backed by the manufacturer.
If you decide to use a weight distribution system then I recommend checking out the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR which is rated for 200 lbs - 600 lbs loaded tongue weight, has adjustable mounting brackets, comes with all of the parts you need to tow, and is made right here in the USA.
Attached is a review video of the TrackPro as well as a helpful article on weight distribution for you to check out.
