Question:

Hello, my installer had to remove the cold air grille to fit the blue ox baseplate onto my 2022 Equinox RS. Have you encountered this with any other Equinox installs? The cold air grille I understand was added to some Equinox’s in 2022. Otherwise the instal was fine.

Yes, all of the base plates for your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, like the:

-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1730 will require removing the cold air grille for installation.

Additionally, if you're needing a complete flat-towing setup, you're going to also need:

-A tow bar # RM-677,

-A braking system # SM99251, &,

-A wiring kit # RM-154.
