Where to Find Stoplight Circuit for Install of Redarc EPDK Diode on 2020 Subaru Outback

I have a 2020 Subaru Outback with Adaptive Cruise Control. I will need Redarcs EPDK diode RED34FR for the Redarc liberty I am about to purchase. Where is the best place to intercept the Third Brake Light Wire? Do I go all the way back to the lift gate light itself, or is there a more convenient place? Also do you know the colors of the wires? I could remove a bunch of trim to get to the back of the light, but thought Id ask. Thank you.

The best place to find the stoplight circuit on a vehicle like your 2020 Subaru Outback is going to be at the brake pedal switch. You'll need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires till you find the circuit that only has voltage when pedal is pressed. This will be the circuit to install the Redarc Encapsulated Power Diode # RED34FR onto when you install the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty # RED24FR.
