Based on your measurements it sounds like your 2016 Montana High Country 305RL has a 17' awning. I did check this against manufacturer information and they show it as coming with a 16' awning. The awning measurement is taken from center of awning arm to center of awning arm like you took and the 1/2" difference may just mean the arms are not perfectly level.
It appears that they installed a Dometic awning which you can use the Solera 17' Replacement Awning Fabric # LCV000334409 as a replacement.
If the tube is also damaged I recommend replacing the entire awing with a Solera 12V XL Power RV Awning # LCV000334961-362243 as Dometic puts their awning motor inside their tube rather than in the arms like with the Solera. This Solera also has a 9'8" projection versus the typical 8' giving you more shade.
