Question:

The GearSpace 34 is perfect Except I need more then the 31inches of clearance. More like 36-38. I cant find anything that will either swing out or pull out to accomodate the 2022 Sprinter vans doors AND hold at least two golf bags. Golf bags measure 60L by 20 W. All others I reviewed are too shallow and too short. Thanks

I did some online research and I think I have a solution. You can add a hitch extender. Your 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 has a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs. This will make your vehicle's maximum tongue weight 500 lbs. The GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitch - Slide Out - 34 cu ft - 300 lbs - Light Gray, part # HGK826, weighs 160 lbs and it has a maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs. If you use a hitch adapter to gain more space, you will reduce the maximum tongue weight by 50%. Making the new maximum weight capacity 250 lbs. This could work, provided your golf bags do not weigh more than 90 lbs collectively.

I recommend the Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long, part # C45791. It will add an additional 8" to your trailer hitch. Once this is installed, you can install your Gearspace 34 in the extender. I recommend adding a hitch lock, part # e98880, to secure this hitch extender to your vehicle's trailer hitch.
