Will Yakima EXO Swing Away Storage System Work on Door That Swings Open

Question:
Will this work with 2004 Lexus GX 470 since the rear door swings open same as the carrier? Wondering if both carrier and rear door will operate fully without interference- like banging into each other

Expert Reply:
It depends on how far the door swings out on your Lexus, but what I can tell you is the measurement from the center of the hitch to the swing-away arm is 33 inches on the Yakima EXO system you asked about:

I have added a photo of the EXO system showing this measurement, which should tell you if you can fully open the rear door without any interference. No matter what you will be able to open the door enough to access the cargo area, but that measurement will let you determine if you can open it 100 percent instead of, say, 95 percent.
