Question:

Hello I am switching from a 12gal hot water tank to a tabkless water heater but I need one that can support an 18x18 door. I wanted the fogatti one but it doesnt have a 18x18 door that I can find. The furrion does but I dont see anything about freeze protection. I live full time in my rv and have to move all over the country for work and need to be ok in crappy weather without freezing. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks

The only option we have for a tankless gas hot water heater with an 18" x 18" door is the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR. The add-on door itself is the # FR73FR.

The great thing about the # FR93FR is that it can be winterized to prevent freezing. I confirmed with Furrion that the antifreeze you use for the rest of your water system can be used to winterize the heater. This should be done by a non-toxic antifreeze that is recommended by your manufacturer. Also, a bypass valve can be installed/used to bypass filling the heater with antifreeze. It is important to note that the valve must be evacuated by compressed air before bypassing.

I went ahead and attached the steps for winterizing the # FR93FR as well as a helpful diagram that shows the bypass valve setup. I also linked a helpful installation video for you.
