Can The Marlboro 6' Piano Hinge Be Cut In Half?

Can this hinge be cut and used as two 3foot pieces? Or would the pin come out if its cut in half?

I reached out to Marlboro Manufacturing and they informed me that it is okay to cut their 4" Wide Continuous Hinge - 6' Long # MA42VR in half. The said the hinge pin should not be able to slide out but in the event it does try to slide to peen the end of the pin to hold it in place.
