ID LIKE TO USE THE 6inch PIANO HINGE TO HINGE A CONVENTIONALLY FABRICATED WOODEN WITH 2inch LUMBER ATTIC STAIR IN MY GARAGE - INTENT WOULD BE TO DRILL MOUNTING HOLES INTO HINGE ON 4inch CENTERS AND BOLT HINGE TO ATTIC JOISTS / STAIR ASSEMBLY WITH 3/8inch BOLTS - ID HAVE TO SHORTEN THE HINGE TO 32inch - ESTIMATED LOAD ON HINGE AROUND 500 POUNDS - WHATD THINK?? ANY DIFFICULTY SHORTENING HINGE?

Marlboro doesn't have a weight capacity for their hinges but you certainly can cut the 4" Wide Continuous Hinge - 6' Long - 5/8" Pin Diameter - Steel # MA42VR down to length. I just recommend separating the pieces before cutting them.
