Replacement Tongue Jack for a Coachmen Catalina 263RLS 50th Anniversary Edition

Question:

I have a Coachmen Catalina 263 RLS 50th Anniversary Edition. Looking for a recommendation for trailer jack replacement. Dry weight is around 5700 lbs but gets towed alot with full tanks and non- level sites. It bundocks alot. Ease of installation is highly significant point

We have a great option for you. Unfortunately we do not have anything that tells us what jack you currently have but from your make and model it looks like you need an A-frame jack. I recommend the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF97FR.

The Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF97FR will fit 2" or 2-1/4" spacing, has 23-1/2" of total lift (combination of screw travel and drop leg) and can lift up to 3,500 lbs which will be more than enough for your 5,700 lb. dry trailer because the weight of the jack is determined by the tongue weight of your trailer.

Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.

This jack can be welded or bolted to the trailer, allowing you to install it which ever way is easiest for you and your trailer.
