Troubleshooting Control Board on a 4900N MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent

Question:

Having an issue with the lid operation. Lid will open/close manually. Removed and bench tested motor and it works. Just will not operate with wall switch. With motor unplugged when I push switch a green light illuminates on the board. When I plug motor in the light goes out or illuminates orange. Is this a bad board?

I suggest pulling the 12 volt DC fuse and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to try and hard reset the 4900N MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent. You should check all the wires and connections for damage like corrosion, shorts or overheating. If this doesn't work and the rest of your fan is functional then it does sound like the board has gone out. The 10-21275N board is going to be hard to replace. We do not stock it and a quick search online came up with a couple pricey options. I recommend upgrading your entire unit to the MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Manual Lift - 10 Speed - White item # MA00-04000K you were looking at.
