Question:
We have a 28ft 5260lbs full weight 4900lb dry camper trailer. We also have a round bar wds with sway bar rated at 800-1200 lbs. Do you think this is sufficient? Equipped with rear air bag suspension. Do we allow the truck to self level to mark level on vehicle prior to hooking up hitch or do we have the truck in the lowest position? Any info helps. Would it be a good idea to go to an RV dealer for a walk through on set up for the wds?

When it comes to your 28 foot trailer that fully weighs 5,260 pounds and has a dry weight of 4,900 pounds the round sway bars that you already have rated at 800-1200 pounds should work. . Having a higher rated system could cause more sway on the trailer, but if its towing fine you can continue using it. If you're still having issues with sway afterwards I would recommend a lower rated system like The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 6,000 pounds GTW, 600 pounds TW # FA94-00-0600.
This system will work with your lighter weight trailer because of the low tongue weight capacity between 400-600 pounds. It will evenly distribute weight over the axles of the towed vehicle and the trailer axles for stability and control. It has 2 integrated points of sway control that limit the side-to-side movement of the trailer. This system has a maximum rise of 6-3/8 inches from the top of the hitch receiver opening, and has a maximum drop of 1-5/8 inches from the top of the hitch receiver opening.
This system comes with everything you would need except The 2 inch Hitch Ball - 1-1/4 inch Diameter x 2-5/8 inch Long Shank - Chrome - 10,000 # A-90 which is sold separately.
