Recommended 5th Bike Rack for Two Heavy E-Bikes That Has a Ramp

Updated 07/19/2024 | Published 07/14/2024

Question:

Were shopping for a bike rack. We have two Lectric XP 2.0 bikes, 64 pounds each. Our RV is a fifth wheel, Vanleigh Vilano 320GK. Im 77 years old and lifting the bike repeatedly when tired is problematic. I like the Hollywood Destination E HLY66ZR for its ramp, but its not suggested for fifth wheels, instead your web site suggests a HLY64FR RV Rider. Is there a Hollywood bike rack for us that has a ramp? Or should we look at another brand? Thank you!

Unfortunately, Hollywood Racks doesn't have a rack that has an integrated ramp that's also rated for 5th wheels. So instead, I recommend going with the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y88DJ.

This rack has an integrated loading ramp, a 80 lb per bike capacity for a total of 160 lbs, and will work great with 5th wheels.

Our Rv rear hitch is about 7-1/2 inches forward of the rear bumper. Is that a problem for this Yakima Y88D hitch? I have a couple of pictures to show the problem. I’m worried that the bike handlebars will be touching the RV rear.

@RearD It should not be a problem, no. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest part of the rack when folded up is 12", and when folded down is 30 1/2".
