Trailer Hub Grease Seals Need to be Greased before Install
Updated 03/30/2022 | Published 03/29/2022 >
Question:
Grease seal issue. Should a new seal have grease placed on the rubber at installation onto axle spindle? Also, I presume the outer races should NOT have lubricant placed on the outer edge when installing into hub?

Expert Reply:
It is not required to grease the rubber portion of hub seals like the # GS-2250DL that you referenced. You would not need to do that with the races either.
