Question:
Hi , will the 4 step handrail work on the Bropphy 4 step 24” wide when attached to a tailgate or would I need a 5step handrail due to the extra distance needed for the tailgate ?

Nice question, I did some digging to see what will work for you.
**Aluminum Hand Rail for 5 Step Scissor Stair # AHR5.
I recommend going with the 5 step hand rail. Not knowing the exact set up, I feel this is the safest option as you can trim the rail down to fit if needed.
