Question:
I am interested in a bike rack for a 65 lb. e-bike with 4 tires. Im 70 years old so really would like a bike rack with a ramp. Ive been looking at the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack but Id like to know if there are other options that I have not considered. Also have a question about whether I need a cross-bar for the step-through bike. Thank you.

Expert Reply:
There are some other e-Bike racks out there that either come with a ramp or have a ramp accessory you can purchase but for your application I highly recommend the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 you've been looking at for a few reasons; the ramp comes with the rack and actually has a storage spot on the rack, the clamps that secure your bike can swivel around so they are perfect for step-thru applications, and the EasyFold XT can fold up like a suitcase and be transported on wheels - this means it'll be easier to install on your vehicle plus it won't take up nearly as much space in your garage as the other options. Just be sure to pick up the Fat Bike Straps # TH985101 so it will work with your wider 4" tires.
